The SWT-2KW variable pitch wind turbine consists of variable pitch blades, permanent magnet generator, rotating assembly (including slip ring and mechanical brake device), wind tower, brake switch, electrical controller, battery pack, inverter, cables, and other components. It utilizes mechanical variable pitch technology. When the blades are stationary, it can be easily started. Once the wind speed reaches 2.5 meters per second, the rotor begins to rotate. Within the wind speed range of 3-9 m/s, driven by centrifugal force, the blades gradually change their position to track a relatively higher lift-to-drag ratio for better operational efficiency. When the blades rotate rapidly, the centrifugal hammer pulls the blades back to their original position, maintaining them to operate at rated speed, with a maximum speed not exceeding 360 rpm.

 

Passive variable pitch wind turbines refer to a type of wind turbine that utilizes a passive mechanism for adjusting the pitch angle of the turbine blades. Compared to other types of wind turbines, passive variable pitch wind turbines offer several advantages including improved efficiency, increased power generation in variable wind conditions, enhanced safety and reliability, simplified design and maintenance, as well as adaptability to site-specific conditions.
